A project designed and constructed by Glastonbury-based S/L/A/M Collaborative is adding new outpatient suites at The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain.
The work by S/L/A/M Construction Services demolished and renovated outdated spaces on an occupied floor to meet new urgent care satellite standards for interiors. S/L/A/M renovated a 3,600-square-foot former clinical space to make way for a new maternal fetal medicine suite including a reception and waiting area, along with consultation, ultrasound, exam and administrative rooms.
Connected to the fetal medicine suite, a new 1,800-square-foot spine center includes a separate glazed vestibule entrance with reception and staffing stations; waiting, consultation, and exam rooms; nurse stations and administrative offices. The new suite features wall and floor finishes with natural hues, frosted glass panels, sliding barn-style doors and indirect cove lighting.
A third element of the project is a renovated 3,200-square-foot cardiac rehabilitation gym. Converted from clinical offices, the new patient-dedicated suite includes prep areas, a cardiac gym equipment room, workspaces and consultation room.
