City officials gave the go-ahead to two apartment projects in the center of New Haven Wednesday.

The two buildings, one on the corner of Orange and Chapel streets downtown, the other in the Hill-to-Downtown neighborhood near the city’s MetroNorth train station, will together add 269 apartments to the city, the New Haven Independent reports.

The first project is from developer Paul Denz, who is planning a 120-unit project on the same block as the one approved this week. The second project represents the final phase of RMS Cos.’ three-phase redevelopment of several parcels between the train station and downtown.
