The owner of a shopping center along U.S. 1 in Norwalk has received $3 million to refinance the property and fund tenant improvements.

The Norwalk Shopping Center, in the heart of a major commercial district at 585 Connecticut Ave., is owned by Tartaglia Commercial Properties, one of Connecticut’s largest privately held real estate development companies. The 23,300-square-foot retail center’s tenants include Golf Galaxy, American Steakhouse and Mattress Firm. Washington Trust’s Commercial Real Estate Group provided the financing.

“Washington Trust was pleased to provide financing for this project, which provides strong amenities in a well-located center,” Julia Anne M. Slom, senior vice president of Washington Trust’s Commercial Real Estate Group, said in a statement. “We’re grateful to be able to expand our relationship with the Tartaglia Commercial Properties Team.”
