In his address to the Stamford Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting, Gov. Ned Lamont said he was eager to reach a deal with legislators to find funding for transportation upgrades.

According to the Stamford Advocate, Lamont reiterated his opposition to using bonding to pay for most of the projects, saying it was “the wrong way to go” and the state had been “addicted” to debt for too long.

While his proposal for tolls on major highways was defeated this summer, the administration is exploring other alternatives including federal assistance.
