A Monroe retail building, previously the home of a local hardware store, will continue to supply the area with everything from gardening supplies to power tools as the new location of a Northeast hardware store chain following a new lease.
The 10,619-square-foot building at 590 Main St. was formerly the location of Stepney Hardware. It was leased to Aubuchon Hardware under undisclosed terms. Aubuchon will be opening its new location in the fourth quarter of this year.
The family-run Stepney store closed in January 2019 after 60 years in business. Aubuchon Hardware is the oldest family-owned and managed hardware store chain in America.
Westport-based SCRE was the exclusive tenant broker.
