A Bridgeport-based developer has proposed a $14 million sports complex in Ansonia.

According to the Connecticut Post, The Primrose Cos. wants to build a 39,000-square-foot indoor soccer facility, a FIFA-size lighted outdoor soccer field and a 49,000-square-foot indoor sports training facility. The project would be built on an empty lot once the site of a public housing complex across the Naugatuck River from the city’s downtown.

Primrose was the only developer to respond to the city’s invitation to build on the site, which has been vacant since 2016.
