The nonprofit owner of the popular College Street Music Hall in New Haven got the official OK to convert a little-used championship tennis stadium next to the Yale Bowl into a concert venue.
The New Haven City Plann Commission approved the conversion last week.
The stadium was constructed for the August 1991 Volvo International Tennis Tournament and is owned by Yale. The Tennis Foundation of Connecticut Inc. had leased the facility for various subsequent tournaments since then, but a decision was made to move future events to a new venue.
