Another major Bridgeport construction project is near completion, its developer has told local media, with the first concert dates in the Harbor Yard Amphitheater expected to be announced soon.

The $15 million, Live Nation-run, 5,500-seat concert venue is being built on the grounds of the former Bridgeport Bluefish minor league baseball stadium in the city’s South End neighborhood, an area largely known for its soon-to-decommission power plant, popular Seaside Park and empty lots once home to manufacturing businesses. The venue will be next to the Webster Bank Arena, a popular sports venue, and a short walk from the Metro North commuter rail station.

A December Facebook post on the amphitheater’s account stated the 2020 lineup of concerts will be announced soon. The post also stated popular local business like Two Roads Brewing, Donut Crazy and the Fairfield and Greenwich Cheese Co. would be providing concessions at the venue alongiside food service giant Aramark The Connecticut Post first reported the announcement.
