One of the Westfield Meriden Mall’s anchor stores will soon close.

Macy’s announced Monday it will be closing its Meriden location after an eight- to 12-week closing sale, slated to begin shortly.

The New Haven Register first reported the news.

Local property records say the store has just under 180,000 square feet spread over two floors.

Macy’s decision leaves the mall with only two anchor stores – a one-floor Boscov’s department store and a one-floor Dick’s Sporting Goods location – and a pair of vacant, two-floor anchor spaces.
