A large furniture showroom located next to a West Hartford CTFastrak station is closing, potentially opening the door to redevelopment.
The Hartford Courant reports Puritan Furniture plans to close its showroom at 1061 New Britain Ave., just feet from a stop on the popular bus rapid transit line, which has already spurred multifamily development in other cities and towns along its length. Calls from The Commercial Record to Puritan store managers were not returned as of publication time.
Built in 1955, the 2-story, 156,174-square foot building sits on 2.72 acres.
