East Hartford commercial real estate firm Goman+York Property Advisors has hired a new senior vice president.

David Dumeer, a seasoned veteran of the real estate industry with more than 30 years of experience in the retail industry, has joined the firm as senior vice president for retail transactional services.

“Dave brings decades of accomplishment and a wealth of experience in retail development and tenant representation,” Goman+York Principal Tom York said in a statement.. “Dave provides national real estate vision and local market knowledge. He knows how to make deals work for landlords and tenants, and we are excited that Dave is bringing his skill set and contacts to Goman+York.”

Most recently, Dumeer owned Golden Oak Development LLC and Golden Oak Retail Advisors, companies that offered site and market evaluation, store design and development to tenants nationwide. His retail clients have included The Orvis Co., Barbour, Ben & Jerry’s, Maggie McFly’s, CMX-Cinebistro, Central Rock Gym, Dover Saddlery and El Pollo Guapo.

Dumeer has also developed properties with Regal Theaters, Barnes & Noble, Target, Walgreens, Chico’s, Victoria’s Secret, Walmart, Brooks Brothers and Suit Supply, among others. He has also worked with major landlords such as the Simon Property Group, Taubman, General Growth, CBL, Regency Property and Weingarten Realty, along with many other REITs, lifestyle developers and local builders.

Prior to his current position, Dumeer served as a vice president with Developers Realty Corp., which developed more than 5 million square feet of retail property. He also worked with Staubach Retail Services as managing agent for its Connecticut office.

Dumeer will be based in Goman+York’s offices located at 1137 Main St. in East Hartford.
