A five-building office-retail plaza proposed across the street from South Windsor’s Evergreen Walk lifestyle center has been approved by local officials, while a separate proposal for a large Costco location has been filed with town officials.
A general site plan was filed with the town last November. Those plans showed three office buildings of between 25,000 and 30,000 square feet and two 19,400-square-foot retail buildings with seven leasable spaces apiece ranging from 1,200 square feet to 4,050 square feet. The plans show the two project’s parking lots connecting to and wrapping around a prexisting liquor store to link up with those serving a recently-built Aldi grocery store and Chase Bank branch.
The final proposal from Farmington-based Metro Realty Ltd. had a total of 38,880 square feet of retail space and 50,400 square feet of office space.
Separate from Metro’s project, a 163,000-square-foot Costco store and associated filling station has been proposed in the Evergreen Walk development. Town documents note the application has recently been received.
