neral contractor Solidus has completed its renovation of a century-old former elementary school in East Hartford and officially opened its new headquarters.
The building at 1450 Main St. was built in 1909 as Second North Elementary School. The school closed in the late 1970s.
Solidus relocated its offices and 28 employees to East Hartford from Bloomfield.
East Hartford Mayor Marcia Leclerc, state Sen. Saud Anwar and state Rep. Jeff Currey joined Solidus executives, other public officials and staff at a recent socially distant ribbon cutting on the building’s lawn.
The mayor noted comments made by Solidus management that the move was made easy by municipal officials. “East Hartford is indeed business friendly, and we welcome you to this great community,” she said.
