The manager of a New Milford power center has been named to the board of a major economic development organization in nearby Westchester County, New York.

Kirsten N. Gizzi is the executive director of Litchfield Crossings, a 42-acre shopping plaza with anchor tenants including TJ Maxx, Kohl’s, HomeGoods, Big Lots and Nuvance Health. The Westchester County Association announced her election to its board yesterday.

Gizzi also holds roles of general council for Yonkers-based Litchfield Crossings co-owner and major tri-state area construction firm ECCO III Enterprises Inc., and director of real estate for the company’s affiliate, ECCO Development LLC.

“As the leading independent voice of Westchester’s professional community, we’re excited to welcome talented and diverse leaders. Their skills, expertise, and deep connections within the regional business community will help WCA continue driving economic development and provide top leadership across the region,” the association said in a statement.

Gizzi also is a member of the boards of The Corporation for New Milford Economic Development and The New Milford Chamber of Commerce.  She is also president of the board of directors of Hope’s Door, a Westchester-based nonprofit assisting domestic violence victims and is co-facilitator at The Phoenix and The Rose, where she works with middle- and high-school children to provide education on healthy love and dating abuse.

Gizzi, the single mother of two teenage girls said in a statement that her success and involvement is motivated by a desire “to show my daughters that a strong independent woman can accomplish anything that they put their minds to.”
