A Bridgeport-based manufacturer of padding materials used to underlay carpeting has acquired a 200,000-square-foot Suffield property for $10.6 million.

Rug Pad USA’s new manufacturing and distribution facility at 100 Marketing Drive features 34-foot high-bay warehouse space, R&D, manufacturing and flex office space along with 20 loading docks and three drive-in doors. Amenities include fitness rooms, snack bars, training space and a prototype company store that will be used to study merchandising strategies.

The two-building complex was built in 2005 and 2015 and spans nearly 21 acres, according to Suffield assessors’ records.

The property was previously occupied by Windsor Marketing Group, which was represented by Amodio & Co. Real Estate of Farmington in the transaction.

Founded in 2012, Rug Pad USA markets its carpet padding products through online channels.
