Los Angeles-based North American luxury real estate brokerage The Agency has come to Connecticut.
The firm announced the opening of its first local office, at 2 South Ave. in downtown New Canaan, this morning.
Office leaders will be Todd David Miller and Cliff Smith. Miller was previously senior vice president of sales for eight years at Higgins Group/Christie’s International Real Estate. Smith was a top agent in the same brokerage, having been affiliated with it since 2016.
“The luxury market in Connecticut is thriving and we’re thrilled to broaden our reach and referral network with our franchise in New Canaan,” CEO Mauricio Umansky said in a statement. “We welcome our like-minded partners, Todd David Miller and Cliff Smith, who will be wonderful stewards of our unique Agency culture. We look forward to announcing new franchise partners soon.”
The expansion comes as The Agency announces growth in California, Canada and Long Island. In a press release announcing the New Canaan office, Agency Executive Vice President of Franchise Sales Jim Ramsay said the brokerage plans further East Coast expansions.
The Agency describes itself as having “modernized” the residential real estate sales industry by “fostering a culture of partnership in which all clients and listings are represented in a collaborative environment. Shunning the traditional brokerage model, agents share knowledge, spheres of influence, contacts, and expertise, ensuring clients better representation and a true competitive edge.”
The brokerage has 700 agents in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.
