Amazon officials appeared before Glastonbury’s Planning & Zoning Board last week outlining their plans for yet another distribution facility in central Connecticut.

The 140,000-sqare-foot facility will be the final stop for packages ordered via the company before they go to area homes, the company said.

Amazon will be taking over a vacant property owned by Winstanley Enterprises at 35 National Drive in Glastonbury. The company would add around 225 parking spaces to the facility to accommodate both workers and delivery drivers.

The town’s engineer has submitted a memo to the board asking for more data to justify the number of parking spaces proposed. Board members also asked Amazon for more analysis of what traffic would be like in peak shipping season in November and December.
