Amazon’s latest logistics facility will be converted from a former Kraft Foods warehouse and factory in Glastonbury.
The town Planning & Zoning Commission OK’d a plan by Winstanley Enterprises to convert the property at 107 Eastern Blvd. to a “delivery station” for Amazon at its meeting Tuesday.
Plans show 11 tractor-trailer loading docks and two dozen covered parking spaces where delivery vans will be loaded with parcels for final distribution to area houses. Three hundred and twenty-five parking spaces will be provided for Amazon employees and “last-mile” delivery drivers.
Winstanley bought the property in September of last year for $4.35 million, public records state.
The project is just the latest Amazon-focused industrial development in Connecticut.
Leasing continued to outpace supply in the Northeast industrial market in the first quarter., CBRE reported.
