Michael Sweeney of Torrington Savings Bank has been named to the executive committee of the Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce and joins several bankers on the business group’s board of directors.
Sweeney, a vice president and commercial loan officer, was elected secretary of the Chambers’ executive committee. Paul S. Lavoie of Carey Manufacturing is the new committee chair, and other officers include vice chair John Lodovico of Tunxis Community College, treasurer Christine Malay of DoubleTree by Hilton Bristol and immediate past chair Jay Sattler of CliftonLarsonAllen.
“I look forward to working with our board of directors, Chamber staff and business community to build a strong and vibrant regional chamber for the Central Connecticut business community,” Lavoie said. “We are pleased to add Michael Sweeney to our executive committee as we continue to build a dynamic board of directors to support our strategic plan.”
The Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce includes chambers from Bristol, Burlington, Farmington, Plymouth and Wolcott. It has nearly 1,600 business and organizational members and is the second largest chamber network in Connecticut. The group focuses on economic growth, advocacy for members and member development.
