A four-member leadership team has been formed for The S/L/A/M Collaborative’s planned growth of its sports design studio business.
The Glastonbury architects announced that Marc Clear was appointed as its new sports practice leader. Dane Hawthorne was named the sports design leader, while Emily Burton will serve as director of business development for sports and recreation and Bobby Carter continues as director of sport facilities.
“Marc’s composed demeanor and problem-solving attitude make for a top-notch leader. He is a constant collaborator and his proven abilities to coordinate complex projects has made him a recognizable industry leader,” SLAM Principal Mike Holleman said in a statement.
In March 2020, SLAM acquired five CBRE | Heery architectural design practices to augment its existing sports and health care business. Formed nearly 60 years ago by Heery International, the sports studio has designed more than 300 athletic facilities on college campuses including such recent projects as the University of Tennessee Football Operations Center, University of Notre Dame Campus Crossroads and West Virginia University Puskar Center Renovation.
