Waterbury-based Skyline Financial Federal Credit Union has named Benjamyn Frye as its new chief operating officer.
Frye joined Skyline Financial FCU in late April, and his role will focus on member engagement, branch administration, regulatory compliance, vendor management and internal auditing, the credit union said in a statement. He will report to the credit union’s president and CEO, James Higgins, who joined Skyline Financial a year ago.
“It’s exciting to have Benjamyn join our team,” Higgins said in the statement. “[H]is experience, energy, and member-centric mindset made him a perfect match for Skyline Financial FCU’s mission.”
Frye has over eight years of branch operations experience, including at Berkshire Bank, Hartford Federal Credit Union and Members 1st Federal Credit Union in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the statement said. He is on the board of the South Windsor Chamber of Commerce and on the finance committee for the Connecticut Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.
“I’m particularly excited that this makes for one of the youngest executive teams in the state of Connecticut for financial institutions and we are both equally excited to be a part of a paradigm shift for credit unions across the state with our focus on members and our communities,” Higgins said.
Skyline Financial FCU has about $39 million in assets and more than 4,700 members. Its field of membership includes 24 small employee groups.
