Savings Bank of Danbury has hired Kim Karl as vice president of commercial lending.

Karl has more than 30 years of banking experience, the bank said in a statement. She worked most recently as a commercial lender for Ion Bank and has had the same role for People’s United Bank and TD Bank.

Karl is a member of the United Way of Western Connecticut’s Northern Fairfield County community council. She is also a mentor with the Human Services Council of Norwalk, a board member with the McGivney Community Center and secretary of the Greater Norwalk Chamber of Commerce.

Savings Bank of Danbury has more than $1 billion in assets and 16 branch offices in Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Southbury, Stamford, Waterbury and Norwalk.
