New Canaan-based Bankwell has named Courtney Sacchetti as its next chief financial officer effective Jan. 1.
Sacchetti will join Bankwell’s executive team as an executive vice president and report to Bankwell President and CEO Christopher Gruseke, Bankwell said in a statement.
Sacchetti joined Bankwell six years ago as director of financial planning and analysis.
“An exceptional performer and contributor to Bankwell, Courtney has demonstrated her ability to succeed, and she will ensure a smooth and seamless transition into the role of CFO,” Gruseke said in the statement. “We are excited to welcome Courtney to the management team.”
Before joining Bankwell, Sacchetti spent 18 years at GE Capital, where she had several finance and regulatory positions.
“I am excited about my new role and responsibilities,” Sacchetti said in the statement. “I look forward to continuing to play a part in the company’s ongoing success.”
Sacchetti will replace Penko Ivanov, who will leave the bank effective Dec. 31, Bankwell said in an SEC 8-K report last month. Bankwell said in the SEC filing that Ivanov would act as a consultant to the bank in 2023 through the completion of the bank’s year-end financial reports “to assure an orderly transition.”
