A distributor of well-known cheese brands including Cabot Creamery is set to open its first Connecticut facility in January at a newly-completed industrial property developed by Winstanley Enterprises in Enfield.
Agri-Mark’s new distribution center spans 260,000 square feet in the North Maple Street development.
Principal Adam Winstanley joined local and state officials at a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week to mark the imminent opening of the facility. The Agri-Mark cooperative includes 600 member farms, which distribute dairy products including Cabot Creamery and McCadam Cheese.
The cooperative has a manufacturing facility in West Springfield, Massachusetts. Winstanley’s new distribution center includes 202,000 square feet of dry storage and 60,000 square feet of refrigerated space, enabling the cooperative to consolidate its operations in a single facility.
The cooperative has 44 member farms in Connecticut, including a North Canaan farm owned by Agri-Mark Board Chairman James Jacquier.
The rest of the 500,000-square-foot facility is leased to life science lab equipment manufacturer Eppendorf North America.
