Thomaston Savings Bank’s employees donated more than $45,000 to the United Way’s annual workplace campaign.
The bank said in a statement that its employees had pledged support to the United Way and its mission to provide for basic human needs, financial stability and education in Connecticut. The bank added that the mission resonated with employees, “who acknowledge the needs throughout their community.”
“We are thrilled to contribute over $45,000 to the United Way Campaign,” Stephen Lewis, president and CEO of Thomaston Savings Bank, said in the statement. “I am so proud of our employees, coming together for a wonderful cause.”
The bank said 92 percent of employees participated in the campaign, and contributions increased by $4,000 compared to last year. Some of the bank’s branches and departments saw all staff members make donations.
“It is wonderful to be a member of such a giving group who provides not only financial support but also lends their personal time for the greater good,” Cheryl Lindstrom, Thomaston Savings Bank’s assistant vice president and community outreach officer, said in the statement. “I am proud of the thoughtful and generous pledges made by Bank employees. The results of this year’s campaign speak to the character of our team and the culture of the Bank.”
Thomaston Savings Bank has about $1.5 billion in assets and 15 branches in Western Connecticut.
