A Greenwich-based finance company is relocating to downtown Stamford after committing to occupy nearly 61,000 square feet at Stamford Plaza.

ICON International will occupy the top two floors of the 253,000-square-foot office tower at 107 Elm St., owner RFR announced.

The specialized finance company is currently headquartered at 1 East Weaver St. in Greenwich.

RFR acquired the 1 million-square-foot Stamford Plaza campus in 2007. The developer invested in a capital improvement campaign in 2019 that brought new common area amenities and updated lobbies, along with a new cafeteria.

“The recent renovation at Stamford Plaza gives the firm a distinctive option that offers beautiful and collaborative office spaces, a robust suite of amenities and, of course, the benefits of RFR’s well-known commitment to providing contemporary workspaces for the thriving southwestern Connecticut market,” RFR’s Margaret Carlson said in a statement.

ICON International also is expanding in Florida, where it first opened an office in 2019, and will expand into a new 24,000-square-foot office scheduled to open this year.
