Fullstack Modular is relocating its U.S. headquarters to Hamden, from New York City’s Brooklyn Naval Yard where it had operated since 2012.

But the manufacturer of modular mid- and high-rise multifamily towers wasn’t leaving due to cost of living concerns. Instead, according to a new report in CT Insider, it was lured by the state’s logistics network.

FullStack will take 124,000 square feet of space at 30 Edmund St. in Hamden and invest between $8 million and $12 million in upgrades to the facility and workforce hiring, according to an announcement from Gov. Ned Lamont’s office last week.

The property is owned by Gateway Terminal, a logistics and transportation firm. Lamont’s office described the move as creating “a huge growth opportunity for the company” thanks to the ability to ship products by road, rail and via New Haven’s seaport.
