Two local banks are seeking state permission to expand their branch footprints.
Ridgefield-based Fairfield County Bank filed an application with the Connecticut Department of Banking May 5 to open a new, full-service branch at 26 Mill Plain Road in Danbury. That’s down the street from where a Wells Fargo branch is slated to close.
That branch, if approved, will open in July. It would be Fairfield County Bank’s 17th branch.
The CT Department of Banking also approved New Haven Bank’s application to open a full-service branch at 636 Campbell Ave. in West Haven on May 3. The bank is targeting an August opening date.
It will be the second branch for the bank, which is also a CDFI, after its 299 Whalley Ave. headquarters.
