The developer that acquired The Hartford’s Simsbury office campus in 2015 is proposing another 540 housing units on the 172-acre property.
Silverman Group submitted preliminary plans to the Simsbury Zoning Commission for 448 apartments in 14 buildings, along with 11 duplexes and 70 single-family homes.
Basking Ridge, New Jersey-based Silverman Group paid $8.5 million for the vacant office campus in 2015 and demolished the buildings before launching its redevelopment efforts.
The proposed complex would be branded as The Ridge at Talcott Mountain-South and include a swimming pool, playground and community center, according to plans submitted to the Simsbury Zoning Commission.
The developer submitted a concept site plan as a precursor to beginning its formal permitting process.
Silverman Group previously developed a 183-unit apartment complex on the Hopmeadow Street property, which included a 600,000-square-foot office complex before the insurer relocated its employees to offices in Hartford and Windsor.
