This fall, graduate students at Fairfield University will have a new choice of degree: a master’s in fintech.

The school’s Charles F. Dolan School of Business hosts the program, which the school said is available both fully online or as a hybrid program.

In its announcement of the new program, Fairfield University said students will study topics like blockchain and cryptocurrencies, artificial intelligence, algorithmic trading, “strategic management of technology and innovation” and ethical considerations in fintech regulation. The degree is being pitched at both recent graduates and working professionals, including senior executives.

“As technology continues to revolutionize every aspect of our lives, the need for forward-thinking individuals who can bridge the gap between finance and technology has never been more crucial,” Katsiaryna Bardos, chair of the Dolan School’s finance department, said in a statement. “Our program is designed to address this demand head-on, offering students an unparalleled educational experience that blends theoretical frameworks with practical applications in cutting-edge financial technologies.”
