New Haven architecture firm says it recently designed the first phase of a headquarters for Branford-based biotech Quantum-Si.
In a press release, Svigals + Partners said the 20,000 square feet of space in a converted laboratory building contains wet and dry lab space and office space that can accommodate Quantum-Si’s anticipated future growth.
The open offices also came with flexible lab benches and adjustable lighting systems, along with an “instrument farm” – a showpiece workspace of over 60 devices used in their research – as well as a microscope room, machine shop and clean room for the company’s laser team.
The interior design also sought to echo Quantum-Si’s geometric, white-on-black branding, adding wood elements and “lively” colors .
“Our new headquarters reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to job opportunities and innovation alongside the local community. We believe New Haven County is the perfect strategic location to attract world-class scientific talent as we seek to grow our teams. We look forward to leading the expansion of the life sciences industry in Connecticut,” Quantum-Si CEO Jeff Hawkins said in a statement provided by Svigals.
