Norwalk-based broadband internet provider Frontier Communications is relocating to Texas.

The company will be moving its headquarters to a new, 95,000-square-foot facility in Dallas that will be home to the company’s CEO, executive leadership team and “hundreds of corporate employees,” the company said in a press release.

“It’s official – Dallas is now home base for Building Gigabit America,” Frontier CEO Nick Jeffery said in a statement. “Moving our headquarters to Dallas makes good business sense given the city is already home to hundreds of our corporate employees and sits in the middle of one of our most important fiber markets. With a fast-growing economy and large, diverse pool of talent, Dallas is quickly becoming one of the nation’s top business cities. We’re proud to be part of it.”

The fate of the company’s 48,000-square-foot Norwalk office was not immediately clear. The company announcement cited Dallas as a “business friendly city” and said it wanted to add 3,000 jobs in the city in the next 10 years, but also stated that Frontier will ‘maintain a strong presence in Connecticut, where it has a storied history and a large, growing customer base.” The Stamford Advocate reported Frontier is not offering relocation packages to its local employees.
