JPMorgan Chase is reorganizing its branch network in Greenwich, closing a total of three branches while opening three other branches.
Chase said it closed two branches on 197 Greenwich Ave. and 3A Pickwick Plaza this month to give way to the opening of a new branch at 231 Greenwich Ave., which opened on Nov. 12.
The bank said it plans two new flagship branches: one on Greenwich Avenue which is already opened, and another on West Putnam Avenue which will open in early 2024.
The branch on 260 South Beach Ave. will also close in early 2024, which the bank said will merge into 1150 E. Putnam Ave. in Greenwich’s Riverside neighborhood. Branch employees at this branch will be transferred to nearby branches.
Briana Curran, vice president of Chase US regional communications, said that the bank opened four branches in Connecticut so far this year, and is set to open one more in Guilford before the year ends. The bank also said Chaise plans branches in New Britain, Bloomfield, North Haven, Old Saybrook, Torrington and Groton in the next two years, part of a multi-year campaign to significantly expand its branch footprint nationwide.
“We know that to serve the diverse needs of our customers we need to be present in the community so we’re opening new branches where it makes sense, both in neighborhoods that are growing, and ones where there aren’t enough branches,” Curran said in an email, adding, “Our goal is to have the right branches in the right communities and serve the financial needs of our diverse customers.”
Chase has a total of 59 branches in Connecticut at present.
