American Eagle Financial Credit Union, which has more than 135,000 members and holds roughly $1.6 billion in assets, has opened its first branch in Avon, located at 427 West Avon Road.

“American Eagle’s new branch office in Avon continues our 84-year history as a community-based financial institution offering our members great rates on a complete line of consumer banking products,” Dean Marchessault, president and CEO of American Eagle, said in a statement. “Our new Avon location joins 13 other branches in central Connecticut that serve as active and committed partners in the community.

Leading American Eagle’s Avon office is Branch Manager Andrew White. White is a seasoned community banking executive who previously worked at the same location when the Avon branch was owned by another financial institution. White was also assistant branch manager in neighboring town Unionville.

The Avon branch office has open floorplan with approximately 2,500 square feet of main floor space, plus a drive-up transaction window and drive-up ATM. In addition, the branch will offer a free coin-counting machine for members.

To mark its new presence in Avon, American Eagle will host a month-long grand opening celebration at the branch office from Monday, April 22 to Saturday, May 18.

The celebration will include special product offers, a gift card giveaway featuring more than $2,000 in gift cards to local stores and restaurants, a paper shred day and events suited for all ages which are free and open to the public.
