23 Apartments Planned at Former New Haven Catholic School

A former Catholic school in New Haven’s growing Wooster Square neighborhood could soon be converted to apartments.

The long-vacant St. Michael’s Church school and associated convent would see 23 market-rate apartments under a plan from Brandford-based developer Lisa Amato, according to the New Haven Independent.

Amato’s company, Greene Street Holdings is buying the land from the Catholic Church for $1.2 million, the paper reports.

Wooster Square, next to downtown New Haven, is also the site of a 299-unit apartment complex that broke ground earlier this year, as well as the original Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napolitana and Sally’s Apizza.
