As officials in Hartford try to map out the city’s future, they’re focusing on 10 projects they hope will transform the sometimes-struggling state capitol.

The projects are highlighted in the latest draft of the city’s long-range plan.

The list includes some well-known projects like Hartford’s ongoing Downtown North redevelopment, where shovels are supposed to hit the dirt later this year, and efforts to revitalize the former Colt weapons factory complex.

Others listed include less-well-known hopes to transform the intersection of Albany and Homestead avenues into a mixed-use “gateway” to the city from West Hartford or a “health and innovation district” centered around Hartford Hospital and Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.

The full list of projects is:

  • Downtown North, a mixed-use redevelopment centered on the Dunkin Donuts Park baseball stadium.
  • Albany Avenue Gateway a mixed-use redevelopment at the intersection of Albany and Homestead avenues.
  • North End Wellness District, centered on Mt. Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital.
  • North Main Culture Corridor, along Main Street from Westland Street north to the city line.
  • Union Station Relocation, which would see the city’s main transit hub moved a few blocks west along Asylum Avenue to help speed up commuter trains.
  • Bushnell South, a mid-rise arts and entertainment district a in the blocks immediately south of Bushnell Park.
  • Parkville Arts and Innovation District, centered around the emerging, transit-oriented ‘hipster’ neighborhood of Parkville.
  • South End Health & Innovation District, centered on Hartford Hospital and Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
  • Coltsville Historic Area, centered on Cold Park and the former Colt factory complex.
  • South Meadows, a redevelopment of the industrial area around the city’s Hartford-Brainard Airport.
