American Eagle Financial Credit Union recently made donations to social service and pediatric care organizations.

The East Hartford-based credit union donated $7,500 to local food and housing assistance organizations, American Eagle said in a statement.

Connecticut Foodshare, Hands on Hartford and the Foodbank of Western Massachusetts each received $2,500 from American Eagle to help support the services they provide.

“American Eagle is very thankful for every organization making a difference in our communities and touching the lives of those in need this holiday season,” Howard Brady, American Eagle’s president and CEO, said in the statement. “These three organizations – Connecticut Foodshare, Hands on Hartford and The Foodbank of Western Massachusetts – perform tremendous work by putting caring into action and providing needed support and resources to our service area throughout the year. We give thanks for their partnership and for all they do.”

The $2.4 billion-asset American Eagle also continued its tradition of delivering gift baskets to patients and care staff at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford and Yale Children’s Hospital in New Haven. The baskets included holiday treats, gifts and complimentary tickets to attend American Eagle’s Magic of Lights, a holiday light event at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford that runs through Jan. 1.

The baskets included complimentary tickets for 2022 Bright Nights at Forest Park in Springfield. The baskets went to staff and families staying at Ronald McDonald House of Springfield and pediatric patients and care staff at Baystate Children’s Hospital.

“This is a special time of year and American Eagle is grateful we’re able to brighten our communities through our holiday light sponsorships and bring smiles to families with loved ones who are working to get healthy or taking care of others this holiday season,” Brady said in a separate statement. “We sincerely thank each of these organizations for their amazing work, and we wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday season.”
