Bethel-based Consolidated Controls Corp. Federal Credit Union has merged into Shelton-based Mutual Security Credit Union, with the transaction completed on April 1.

Consolidated Controls Corp. FCU’s two employer groups, Eaton Corporation and DRS Naval Power Systems, are now part of Mutual Security’s field of membership. Consolidated Controls Corp. FCU had about $1.3 million in assets and 175 members, according to National Credit Union Administration data.

Mutual Security had about $335 million in assets and 27,000 members before the merger. Membership includes those who live, work, worship or attend school in Fairfield, Litchfield and New Haven Counties.

This is the second merger of Connecticut credit unions in 2021. East Hartford-based America’s First Network Credit Union acquired Groton Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union in February.

A planned merger of Greater Watertown Federal Credit Union into Waterbury-based FD Community Federal Credit Union in a deal expected to close this summer.
