A village-like mixed-use development in Glastonbury will soon be fully built out after the town’s leaders approved a hotel for the remaining development pad at Somerset Square, according to the Town Council’s minutes.

Somerset Square, built in the mid-1980s, is centered on an open-air shopping mall just 7 miles from downtown Hartford and includes class A office buildings and two other hotels, a Hilton Garden Inn and a Homewood Suites.

The 131-room hotel will be branded as an AC Marriott. It is being built on the last remaining open parcel in the development.

The Journal Inquirer was first to report the story.
